Testing

At Rocky River Behavioral Pediatrics, we use formal psychological testing measures, such as "IQ" or cognitive, achievement, personality, and/or behavioral testing. Psychological testing is typically done at the onset of treatment or independent of treatment. There are times when testing may be recommended in the midst of treatment. Depending on the nature and type of testing, this is typically not done by your treating psychologist (however, could still be completed at RRBP if you choose).

Uses of Psychological Testing:

  • Assess cognitive ability (giftedness or impairment)
  • Assess academic strengths and weaknesses
  • Determine presence of a learning disability
  • Assist in the diagnosis of an attentional disorder
  • For differential diagnosis
  • Aide in treatment planning
